Welcome Back!

Dear Families,

On behalf of Westview School, I would like to welcome you to the 2018-2019 school-year!  We can’t wait to see familiar faces and are eager to meet our new students!  I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work with the highly qualified and dedicated staff, the wonderful students, and the supportive parents at Westview!

We are excited to welcome some new staff members.  I would also like to welcome a new face to the front office.  Mrs. Pamela DePriest as our new school secretary.  Pam has lived in the area her entire life and is excited to get to know this wonderful community, students, and families.

Research shows that parental involvement in a child’s education benefits the child. Westview loves having our parents involved.  We have an awesome Parent-Faculty Club that supports our students and staff.  We hope that you will become part of the Westview PFC.  The PFC meets the third Tuesday each month at 5:30.

This year we are asking that all parents enroll their students online through our Teacherease Program.  You will use your parent login to complete this process. This is the log in you used to check your child’s grades last year.  If you do not have a login or password we will need a current email address to set up your login. Please ask Pam in the front office for your login. This allows the school to have instant correct information in our student information system.   Other important forms you will find enclosed in this information packet. Please fill out all forms on colored paper to the best of your ability even if you don’t think they apply to you.

As the year progresses, we encourage you to call the school for any additional information you might require.  Remember that the school calendar is tentative.  A great way to stay involved is to visit our website  wc6.org frequently and our Facebook page at Westview C-6.  Our school menu can be accessed on our school website under the MENU link.  We encourage you to use the teacherease.com website to keep track of your child’s attendance, grades, emails to teachers, etc.  Middle School Students will have access to the teacherease program and will be taught how to log in and look for missing work, check their grades etc.

It is our mission to support your child in whatever way we can.  Westview Elementary is fortunate to have an excellent teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge.  We also have an outstanding support staff who work in different capacities to support your child’s learning.  If your child needs additional support or if you have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact his/her teacher or myself.  We thank you for your support and welcome you to an exciting new school year!

Westview School has a new Facebook page that can be accessed by the link in the vertical menu to the left.  This will be a site to promote the GREAT and AMAZING things happening at Westview.  Facebook is a great tool to keep parents and the community aware of events and positive interactions instantly. We want to promote an open line of communication, but we can not have personal issues discussed on our public Facebook page.  Due to privacy laws, comments containing private/personal information will be deleted.  If at anytime you have any private or personal issues you would like to discuss, please contact the school during school hours or after hours by private message on this Facebook link.
